PELZ – Balanced
A hybrid control pad that offers the perfect balance between control and slip, just like Hein . Featuring a soft texture and low dynamic friction, it's a great choice for those looking for a balanced gaming experience without sacrificing movement speed or aiming accuracy.
Designer Description:
PELZ (Redesigned September 2024)
Designer's Note: When launching my PELZ and RIZZ pillows, my goal was to create a more cushioned and luxurious version of the WALHAUT . My favorite pillow besides the WALHAUT was the Hayate Otsu Soft Black . Having sourced the Melone jacquard fabric from Japan, I knew it was a premium material, but I didn't want to make an exact replica. I'd also heard from several users that the Melone pattern could be rough, which influenced my decision.
Instead of making a larger version of the Amundsen , which I had previously designed and was well-known in the community (because I played it live on Twitch ), I wanted to completely redefine the pad's performance. The goal was to create an "all-around pad" that could perform like a TAC+TRACK , PRED+RADIANT , and GLOBAL+CHAMPIONS pad . Thus, the PELZ was born, a cross between the OTSU and the WALHAUT , a "hybrid" WAL pad. While I still enjoy the original, especially with some good feet like the Victus2 or WAL Sapphire , it becomes slow after prolonged use.
I remember Hausgaming saying they broke all their records on the Kovaak , but the pad was very slow during gameplay. That was frustrating, but true. It was great for short bursts of high performance, but it was tiring for long gaming sessions or regular rounds.
With increasing demand, I decided to make only minor changes, resulting in PELZ Reworked , the final version available now.
Static friction (primary friction):
Static friction when starting from a standstill has been improved in the second version. Average static friction has been reduced from 6 out of 10 (where 10 is the highest friction level on a Jacquard pad) to 4.5, while the Black Walnut will be around 3 out of 10. This reduction allows for improved precision corrections and freedom of aim, helping you outsmart competitors in any situation.
Dynamic friction (kinetic friction):
The average dynamic friction rating has dropped from 7 out of 10 to 5, while the BLACK WALHAUT will be around 4 out of 10. The PELZ OG was too slow to be a crossover between the OTSU and WALHAUT due to the larger jacquard pattern used in production. The redesigned version features a tighter knot pattern and is supported by a different yarn from the "BLITZ" family, helping to maintain significantly more linear dynamic friction.
Major changes:
The new thread significantly reduces friction change over a period of use compared to the original PELZ version. The redesigned version also offers greater water and dirt resistance, making it more effective against sweat and moisture and easier to clean. Although uncoated, the redesigned version achieves the Lotus effect through its higher density and improved thread.
These changes result in a noticeable change in the overall feel of the surface. PELZ REWORKED offers a more detailed, "high-resolution" experience, optimized for sensors like the 3950 , with increased response speed and a higher LOD (thanks to WALPATERN™ ). It feels less rough and smoother against the skin, while offering better feedback when used with SOFT EIS dot feet.
Final thoughts:
A little faster action, easier starts, solid stopping power, and the perfect feel of decisive clicks with perfect tracking—all in one pad: PELZ Reworked .
Enjoy it!
